Warmth this cold season is still fashionable

November is here and with it comes crisper weather, shorter days and a need for even cozier clothes.

November in my mind is the official beginning of the winter season, the time when it’s no longer just a ‘chill in the air’, but the introduction of real cold.

As the weather becomes colder many have a decision to make. Do you sacrifice fashion for warmth and heat or can you have it all?

If your fall and winter wardrobe is feeling lack luster, with nothing but the same old huge coats, boots and warm garments, then it is the right time to add some heat to your winter looks.

Are ready to give the season for chunky sweaters, blanket scarves, booties and all things cozy a touch of spice and heat, other than the need to be warm?

This fall and winter street styles are all about creativity and with that comes the joy of jumping right out of the box and mix and matching your fabrics for a new and unique look. Wool, plaid, silk and leather can work together to not only keep you warm, but are the basics for fun creative ideas.

When you’re feeling a little down in the dumps because of the colder temperature and darker days, go right ahead and add a huge splash of sunshine!

Yellow was the colour of the year for 2018 and it adds such a feeling of warmth, daring and joy to any outfit. Whether it’s a sweater, jacket, handbag or if you’re truly daring and bold enough, shoes, then go ahead and raise your spirits with the colour of the sun.

If you’re thinking yellow is too much for me, then why not reignite your summer feels and add some floral into the dark mix?

Transition your floral wide-leg pants to a fall look with the help of a chunky, bold sweater and black boots that peek out from the hem.

Not into floral pants?

Then mix it up with a floral chunky sweater, boots and dark jeans.

Letting your socks show is all the rage this cold weather season. A trend that is mostly seen with men, but can be a fun  and creative boost of fun and warmth for those women who want to still wear their kitten heeled slingbacks or fun mules. Pair these shoes with thin, chic socks in bright colours, or shimmery metallic or even argyle… the sky is the limit, so go nuts.

One of the best things about overalls is that they are a year round go-to! They are easy to wear and easy to dress up or down.  This fall and winter season, take them out of the closet and pair them with a fitted turtleneck tee, some loafer heels.

There are so many things you can mix and match to add some spice to your winter looks that will leave you both feeling fresh, fabulous and most importantly warm!

The big take away here is to not be afraid to of colours, patterns or to let your creativity shine through regardless of the season!

Fashion this fall season all about creative mixing

The most noticeable and accessible fashion trends offer texture, sparkle and print to be paired with chunky knits and lightweight cardigans for this winter season. While animal prints, floral and western inspired clothing and accessories are always great staples to have in your wardrobe they are  being heralded as necessary core items for this fall and winter 2018.

Floral designs are making such a come-back this Autumn

The preference for animal prints started during the glamourous golden years of Hollywood but continued to enthrall the masses during the rebellious times of the 70’s and 80’ s.

This latest revival can clearly be seen on handbags, shoes and clothing from major fashion houses to ready to wear clothing brands. This latest rendition provides shoppers with chic and effortless options to incorporate leopard, zebra, tiger and snakeskin into their wardrobes.

From clothes to shoes and other accessories, animal prints are the thing to be obsessed this season!

Classic Animal print pairing are often worn with well-tailored, structured neutral pieces of clothing, and Models and Fashion bloggers are sporting leopard print trousers with button downs for subtle daytime appropriate looks.

Small touches of zebra or snake can be added to a small clutch that can be easily worn with a monochromatic outfit. For those ladies who aren’t afraid of this trend, they can flaunt their love for fashion by mixing prints with patterns which are consider neutrals. If you are truly daring, choose two prints that complement each other.

Leopard tends to look good on most body types however, larger prints like giraffe can be difficult choice to wear.

The trending resurgence of animal print tends to be modern, youthful and feminine. Designers have reinterpreted this trend with colorful dresses, pants and shirts in bright red, oranges and greens in sumptuous silk and other fabrics that offer a fresh take on a classic print.

Diane Von Furstenberg produced a romantic and feminine take on the trend, while Tom Ford had leopard print on red pants.

Check, Houndstooth and Plaid are also fun patterns that you can add to your wardrobe to mix and match with solids. Plaid and Check are similar and come in a variety of colors and shades with Gingham being a popular check print for fashionistas to wear.

These classic patterns accentuate most body types.

Traditional plaid or Tartan scarfs and accessories can help warm you up this winter.

Winter Floral, jacquard and Brocade skirts and pants will be great for the upcoming holidays adding texture and shine to heavy autumn winter garments like oversize sweaters and jackets.  Aesthetically pleasing ruffled garments can be cleverly paired with small to medium size floral prints this season, with Ruffled and Floral shirts and dresses are sure crowd pleasers.

The western or cowgirl trend add color and texture to lighter pieces this fall with cowboy boots, western inspired shirts and jackets with fringe. Western inspired jewelry with tassels and turquoise is a great way to add a touch of the wild west to your wardrobe. Saddle bags and Hobo with fringe are great fashion finds to stay on trend and accentuate any outfit.

Large western inspired Belts can help to pull together a western inspired outfit. The designer Isabel Marant and Alberta Ferretti offered a stunning interpretation of this trend with structure pants and western style shirts. The western or cowgirl trend offers a great alternative to floral or animal print.

5 winter office staples for 2017

A change in seasons can already be difficult. It can cause a lot of stress and there are so many things to consider. Do you have your winter tires? Have you regulated the temperature in your house? What on earth do I wear to work now? It seems like only yesterday people were wearing skirts and light blouses to the office. With the weather getting cooler and cooler, it’s sadly almost time to trade them is for sweaters and long-johns.

But, long-johns aren’t exactly appropriate for that corporate meeting you have. Women’s Post suggests these five fashion staples that are winter-ready and office-ready.

Suede Blazer

The right blazer can do wonders to any outfit, even a simple white t-shirt and jeans. Try adding something like a suede blazer to your wardrobe. I am also not suggesting spending $3000 on an authentic suede jacket, but you can find a faux look thats just as fashionable for under $100.

Black Ankle Boots

Don’t we love our boots in the winter? Tall ones, short ones, black one, and even red ones. The possibilities are endless. But to keep that chic office look without having to freeze your toes, the black ankle boot is a classic staple. These boots can be neatly placed under black trousers or worn with stockings and a skirt.

Camel Coat

Having a chic coat can often do wonders in pulling an outfit together. Brighter coats, rather than the usual black or grey, will make you stand out. Don’t be afraid of a little colour.

A statement necklace added to a simple top can complete your outfit. Try a chunky necklace with a knit sweater.
